Central Florida Bride's Photoshoot!!

I have always been a fan of scanning Bridal magazines; I draw inspiration from the models who can wear a dress with confidence, a photographer who can take a risk and editors that let their pictures tell a story, it's what makes a magazine come to life. Central Florida Bridal magazine has done an outstanding job of keeping this type of tradition alive. A few months ago I was asked to shoot the cover for Central Florida Bride, which would also include a seven page editorial spread. I really wanted to put a fashion editorial spin on the feature.  Since the moment I was asked, I knew I wanted to do something with an modern vintage edge so I chose to shoot at the Grand Bohemian. Anyone who has had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Bohemian is aware of its aura, consisting of unique and elegant and artful decor giving the venue a personality of its own.  As I scanned the hotel from top to bottom selectively choosing where the models would be placed, my creative mind was sync with the visions I first had when asked to do the cover. On March 16th I met with the buyer and directing manager for Solutions Bridal, Tali Gallo, Makeup artist from Makeoverstation, Simone, and three gorgeous models to start and complete the shoot.  We graciously greeted by the amazing staff at the Grand Bohemina.  The talented Jeffery Stoner of Jeffery Stoner Video was there there to capture an editorial behind the scenes.  I am so thrilled to see his rendition and outtakes! The artful event designers Brittany and Chris of Botanica International Design were there to aid in the finalization of the floral detailing and scene development.

The whole shoot was filled with color, life and style. The models were dressed in just a few of the many gorgeous gowns found at Solutions Bridal. Simone made all the women effortless stunning with her unique makeup and hair skills. Overall, it was a complete success I had a ton of fun working with Tali, Simone and all the models! I cannot wait until the magazine is revealed. :)

Here are some mock up covers we provided!

The Knot Party 2010 - Orlando, FL at the Waldorf Astoria

All I can say is WOW! The Knot threw an outstanding party last night at the Waldorf Astoria. The event was first class. The Weddings Unique team has done it again! Heather Snively, Marie Advincula, Linda Frisard and Samantha Aucoin created tons of eyecandy.  Every detail was elegant. The reds, blacks and whites were the perfect color combo and the transition outside was even more stunning! Everything was gorgeous and I had such an amazing time photographing and taking in all that was there. Among the Knot attendees was the talented Brett Culp and his lovely father Ed of Brett Culp Videography, photo booths/tv by PhotoMingle, gorgeous furuniture provided by Room Service, stunning bridal gowns were on display from Solutions Bridal and The Collection, unique and lively performances by Metropolis Productions, rigged by Aerial Rigging and The Key Artist Group's and Live Art by Julie, provided and created the live statues for the event, which were a fun touch! Amazing linen's were provided by Kirby. The space was lite up and brought to life by Ben Lawless from Kaleidoscope, creating a mood of celebration! Going along with that same tone music was provided by Messina Productions, Beautiful Music and the Buzz Cats, all who blew us away with flawless performances! The night was topped off with delicious mini desserts baked by The Cake Studio and flower decor to die for created by Flourish Floral and Raining Roses.

I am floored with all of the talented that was held in one room! The vendors who were attending and selected to contribute their talents for this event did an outstanding job and truly created art in their craft. A special thanks to The Knot for throwing such a fabulous party and to the Waldorf Astoria for providing an amazing space to work in! Tell me your thoughts on the event, and how amazing it was!

As requested by the Knot, most images are on lock down until the Magazine comes out in November... but here are a few to feast on.

Natalie and Justin - Rollins Engagement Session

Natalie and Justin are a true college love story, both graduates of Rollins College's theater department they met on campus and fell in love! How cute is that?! Fun fact about Justin is he travels fixing lighting for televised poker events, a very complicated job that takes a group of extremely talented individuals to do. On the other hand Natalie is a stunning beauty who lite up all the photos I shot, she selected a gorgeous wedding dress from non other than Solutions Bridal, which I cannot wait to photograph! They are both a very good looking couple that are so much fun to photograph!

I had such a great time shooting their engagement session and look forward to shooting their wedding at Rollins in October. Getting their engagement photos shot was a challenge due to Orlando's weather. The couples scheduled engagement sessions were rained out twice and when we finally got to shooting they were more than ready! The photos turned out to be gorgeous and the weather.... well let's just say we lucked out because it started sprinkling on my drive home!

Introducing Natalie and Justin.

Solutions Bridal is coming to Orlando!

Okay, so it's not that far away from Winter Park, but two Solutions Bridal boutiques in the greater Orlando area is better than one! Solutions Bridal boutique is a high end bridal salon with tons of gorgeous gowns, bridal accessories, wonderful stylists/consultants and an in house seamstress to help with those last minute adjustments. Some brides travel from all over to have their consultation with Solutions Bridal, each Bride is warmly welcomed and happily helped by a stylist. It is a challenge for a Bride to image herself finding the perfect gown, everything she ever envisioned; however, Solutions guarantees to help you search until you've found, "the one." Their stylists listen carefully to your ideal dream dress and then find it! Here are just a few sketches of what the up and coming Solutions Bridal store will look like! Posted on their blog, "The Bridal Closet" I can already tell it will be fabulous when it's finally open!

Exclusive Studio Event

Thursday (March 4th) was a night to remember if you happened to stop by my studio. LV Studio's: invitation designer Leslie Vega and calligraphy designer Sarah Hanna amazed us with some stunning invitation samples and live calligraphy demonstrations. It is unreal to me how much talent both ladies have, and I was more than happy to do this lovely event with the both of them.  Amongst the fun and creativity, I sparked my own inspiration and began taking snap shots of the event and those who attended. Enjoying the event (just to name a few) were Maria, Heather and Linda from Weddings Unique, Tali and Shannen from Solutions Bridal, DJ Carl, Brittany form Tickled Pink Brides and a few happily engaged couples! The studio event was a catered success, with help from Tim's wine market choosing a variety of great wines and Sarah Hanna complimenting the wine selection with some delicious hors d’oeuvres! Not only does Sara have an exquisite talent for calligraphy, the woman can cook! I am so fortunate to have such wonderfully talented friends both in and out of the industry who support me! Thank you to all who came and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves!

A new face at Solutions Bridal - Meet Tanya

I often have the pleasure of meeting someone that is incredible.   A while back I met Tanya Douglas.  She had approached me in search of joining the Caroline Johnson team.  Unfortunately, I was already staffed.  I met with her for a second meeting to get to know her and figure out how I could help her secure a job.  Her background ironically is in landscape architecture.  She is ridiculously talented with sketching.  Within 2 seconds she whipped out the sketch while interviewing for a potential job with us.  Her creativity amazed me and her talent was remarkable.  I knew she belonged in the Orlando Wedding Market.  I got a buzz that Solutions Bridal was hiring and instantly knew she would be a perfect fit!  As of last Thursday she is a new face at Solutions Bridal!  I am excited for her because the staff at Solutions Bridal is amazing!  When you are in the Salon be sure to stop in and say hi to her!
